DESCRIPTION

Beatrix Potter, creator of Peter Rabbit, the beloved children’s writer and illustrator was born at No. 2 Bolton Gardens in 1866. Her first experiences of nature, for which she had highest affection and which inspired her writing may have taken place in this garden. It is part of the earlier Gunter development which was undertaken by the brothers father James Gunter I - built around the 1840s.
